When the mind is busy, the mind is trapped in the reactions to words, images and thoughts, to empty the mind is to act now, that is, to observe all the reactions without judgment, justification or condemnation in full attention; so the mind is able to listen to the sound around and feel the breath and other body sensation again. The very doing so is allowing the intelligence of the whole neural system to "do the miracle".

When the mind hears the singing bell, if the mind is not in full attention, which means the mind is carried by thoughts, simply return to the body sensation, to the sound, without any judgment or condemnation; if the mind is in full attention, then the singing bell is just one of the background sound and the full attention continues.
